Operations Manager
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to play a key role in the development of our 20MW hydrogen facility in Milford Haven, South Wales.
This role provides a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of the energy transition in the fast-growing green hydrogen space. You will be working closely with a dynamic international team of technical/commercial personnel. You will play a key role in the project by proactively leading and shaping its operational development, working closely with our in-house project and engineering teams, as well as with stakeholders and partners. During the pre-development phase, the Operations Manager will report to the Head of Projects. The role is based in Milford Haven.
Responsibilities
In this role, your key responsibilities include:
Close collaboration with the whole engineering team during the engineering phase to ensure the operability of the plant
Prepare operational readiness plans for the plant including training and recruitment
Have a clear overview of the plant and its functionalities
Develop operating procedures and ensure alignment with UK Hazardous Substance Consent and MAPD regulations
Set up a first operation and maintenance schedule
Set up potential optimization points for plant operation
Develop effective stakeholder engagement plans with project stakeholders to support the operational phase of the project
Desired expertise and skills
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
B.Sc./M.Sc. Engineering / Technical degree
10 years working experience (depending on role) in operational management
Previous experience and/or understanding of the process and/or hydrogen industry
You have good leadership and communication skills
You are highly motivated, have a structured, results-driven approach, and are able to work independently
Ability to operate the facility in compliance with all safety and environmental regulations and permits
You are proactive in your approach and able to prioritise critical activities whilst managing a large portfolio of tasks
You possess strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with colleagues, customers, and other stakeholders in various countries and cultures
You have a positive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn
Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English
