Project Manager
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to take a project leadership role in the development of our 20MW hydrogen plant in Milford Haven, South Wales. The role is ideally based in our Bristol office, though hybrid or remote arrangements can be considered, with travel required.
This role provides a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of the energy transition in the fast-growing green hydrogen space. You will be working closely with a dynamic international team of technical/commercial personnel. You will add value across the project by proactively leading and guiding the development of the project, working closely with business development and our in-house project, procurement, and engineering team, as well as managing contractors and coordinating with stakeholders and partners. The role reports to the Head of Projects.
Responsibilities
In this role, your key responsibilities include:
· Lead the development and delivery of MorGen Energy’s 20 MW project to achieve planned quality, schedule, and cost targets
· Provide leadership underpinned with strong technical knowledge to guide the project team
· Coordinate across the project team and external stakeholders to ensure efficient aligned development of the project
· Use your broad engineering technical knowledge to guide the resolution of complex problems
· Ensure effective risk management and mitigation
· Provide strong safety leadership to ensure effective HSE management, achieving accident-free project delivery
· Develop contracting strategies and ensure effective contractor management, working closely with procurement & contracting teams to manage contractor performance
· Coordinate with the procurement and technical teams to ensure effective contract and commercial management of contracts
· Support the development of effective supplier relationships and delivery of supply commitments
· Work closely with the business / technical functions to effectively manage risk and mitigate claims
· Represent MorGen Energy with the highest professional and ethical standards
Desired expertise and skills
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:
· B.Sc./M.Sc. engineering/technical degree
· Min 10 years working experience of technical project development / management of complex hazardous industrial facilities
· Deep technical and regulatory knowledge gained from working in hazardous process industries
· Good leadership and communication skills, underpinned by strong technical knowledge
· Highly motivated, have a structured, results-driven approach and are able to work independently
· Proactive in your approach and able to prioritise critical activities whilst managing a large portfolio of tasks
· Possess strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with colleagues, customers, and other stakeholders in various countries and cultures
· Positive can-do attitude and willingness to learn
· Previous experience and/or understanding of the hazardous process and/or hydrogen industry is a plus
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
